Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 1/10/2026
These Terms of Use govern access to indiabrainforum.org and the content and features made available through it. India Brain Forum (IBF) is an initiative of Masthishkam Foundation, a not-for-profit company incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, which operates the website. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to Masthishkam Foundation acting through IBF.
Please read these terms with our Privacy Policy and Legal Disclaimer. By using this website, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, please stop using it. Participation in a particular activity may require separate, express acceptance of that activity’s terms.
Purpose and scope
The website supports learning, research exchange, public discussion and collaboration concerning the brain, mind and society. It includes information about IBF, its people, programmes, events and publications, together with videos, articles, briefs and reports.
Any separate terms for an event, research project, journal, paid service or other activity apply to that activity. Where those terms conflict with these general terms, the activity-specific terms govern that issue. Nothing in these terms overrides a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Responsible use
Please use the website lawfully and respect the rights and privacy of others. You must not attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software, disrupt the website, bypass access controls, impersonate another person, send spam, or submit unlawful, threatening, defamatory or infringing material. Do not collect personal details from the website for unsolicited contact or use automated tools in a way that compromises security or unreasonably burdens the service.
Information you submit should be accurate to the best of your knowledge and yours to share. Do not send identifiable patient information, confidential research data or another person’s private information through a general enquiry form.
Using website content
Copyright and other rights in the website and its content belong to Masthishkam Foundation, individual contributors or other rights holders, as applicable. Unless a particular item carries different terms, you may read, link to, download and print IBF-owned material for personal study, teaching or internal non-commercial reference, with the source and any author credit preserved. You must not present altered material as an original IBF publication or imply IBF endorsement.
Republication, translation, adaptation, redistribution or commercial use requires the relevant rights holder’s permission unless an applicable licence or law permits it. Requests may be sent to pravin@masthishkam.foundation. Rights granted under a Creative Commons or other stated open licence remain governed by that licence. Statutory exceptions, including applicable fair dealing rights, are unaffected.
Photographs, videos, figures and third-party material may have separate permissions. Permission for one item does not automatically extend to another. IBF names and logos may not be used in a way that implies an unauthorised affiliation or endorsement. Ordinary, accurate links to our pages are welcome.
Contributions and correspondence
Sending an enquiry or proposal does not transfer ownership of your ideas or create an obligation for IBF to accept, fund or develop them. We may use the material as necessary to review and respond to the purpose for which it was sent. Confidentiality arrangements should be agreed before you send confidential information; do not assume a general contact channel is suitable for it.
Articles, interviews, recordings and other material proposed for publication are subject to editorial consideration and separate publication permissions or contributor terms. Contributors must hold the necessary rights and obtain permissions for identifiable people and third-party material. We may decline, correct or remove content where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law and any relevant agreement.
Journal and other publications
The journal associated with IBF has its own submission, editorial, ethics, peer-review, copyright and licensing policies. Those policies govern journal activities. A website article, recorded conversation, opinion piece, brief or report should not be assumed to have undergone peer review unless it is expressly identified as having done so. Linking to a paper does not establish its quality or endorse all of its conclusions.
Events and collaborations
An expression of interest, a registration request or an exchange of messages does not guarantee admission, a role, funding, certification, institutional affiliation or a partnership. These require confirmation through the relevant process. Any fees, cancellation terms, recording arrangements or other conditions must be communicated for the specific activity. No tax benefit for a donation should be assumed unless expressly confirmed and legally available.
External websites and tools
Links and embedded tools may take you to services operated by others. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. We do not control their availability or content, and a link does not by itself imply endorsement. Our responsibilities for service providers acting on our behalf remain subject to applicable law.
Availability and changes
We may update, suspend or remove website features or content for operational, editorial, security or legal reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that material will remain accessible indefinitely. Where reasonably practicable, we provide notice of changes that materially affect a registered activity. Separate contractual and statutory obligations remain applicable.
Responsibility and limits of liability
The website provides general information and is not a substitute for advice specific to your circumstances. Please consider the Legal Disclaimer before relying on its content. To the extent permitted by law, we make no guarantee that the website or its material will meet a particular need, remain current or be free from all errors or interruptions. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Masthishkam Foundation, its officers and persons acting on its behalf are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or opportunities, arising from use of or inability to use the website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not remove mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.
Governing law and concerns
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes may be brought before the courts or tribunals having jurisdiction under applicable law. Any mandatory rights to approach a competent regulator, consumer forum or other authority are preserved.
For questions, permission requests or a concern about website content, write to pravin@masthishkam.foundation. Please identify the relevant page and explain your concern. Our postal contact is Masthishkam Foundation, No 30, 2nd cross, Terracon Residency layout, Kithganahalli, Bommasandra, Bangalore 560099. Privacy complaints should be directed to the contact in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
Revised terms will appear on this page with an updated date. We provide additional notice where a material change or applicable law requires it. Changes apply prospectively and do not remove rights that have already accrued. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
